Bob Schwartz is General Manager, Global Design & User Experience at GE Healthcare, leading six studios in five countries and a team of 60. He’s held similar positions at Procter & Gamble, Motorola and the Industrial Designers Society of America, among others. Since 2009, Global Design/UX has been the recipient of 17 medals from the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) and was listed, in 2011, by Fast Company magazine as a Corporate Design Stronghold. In 2015, his career trajectory was cited by Fast Company as among top Chief Design Officers. In 2016, Bob was recognized as among the 50 most notable industrial designers in the last 50 years by the members of the Industrial Designers Society of America. Bob is a member of the Executive Committee/Board of Trustees of the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design and Vice Chairman of the Board of the Design Management Institute. He has a Masters in Industrial Design from the Rhode Island School of Design, where he was a Roddy Scholar, and a BFA in Industrial & Graphic Design from the Kansas City Art Institute. In 2007, he was inducted into the Academy of Fellows of the Industrial Designers Society of America for his contributions to the profession and has represented the United Nations as a Senior Technical Advisor for Design to the Peoples Republic of China.
